Christmas Gift Baskets Made in Canada: The 2026 Guide for Family and Corporate Gifting

4 min read

Canadian-made Christmas gift basket filled with gourmet holiday treats and wine.

We've been assembling Christmas gift baskets since 1986, and every December, the same question comes up: "Can you make sure everything inside is actually Canadian?" The answer is yes, and honestly, it's one of our favourite things to put together.

This guide covers what to look for, what's inside our most popular holiday baskets, and how to handle corporate orders without losing your mind in December.

Why Canadian-Made Matters More at Christmas

There's something different about a Christmas gift that supports local makers. Your recipient opens a box and finds Hardbite chips from BC, handcrafted caramel popcorn from a small-batch Canadian producer, Great Canadian Meat Company jerky. That's not a generic gift basket from a warehouse. That's a story.

We personally taste-test every product before it goes into one of our baskets. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't go in. That's been the rule since day one, and it's why we can confidently say our Christmas baskets are genuinely good, not just visually impressive.

The 2026 Christmas Basket Lineup: What's Worth Ordering

For the Family Who Has Everything

If you're sending to a household that genuinely doesn't need anything, a gourmet gift basket is the move. Ours typically include a mix of artisan biscotti, maple popcorn, premium cocoa truffles, and Belgian chocolate truffles alongside savoury snacks like Handfuel trail mix and artisan pita chips. Nothing mass-market, nothing you'd find in a grocery store aisle.

Pricing starts around $99 for a solid family basket, with options up to $200+ if you want to add a bottle of wine or upgrade to a larger format.

The Wine and Cheese Basket

This is our most-gifted Christmas basket, year after year. A good wine and cheese gift basket at Christmas hits differently than a bottle of wine alone. Add water crackers, artisan biscotti, a few chocolate pieces, maybe some Canadian fudge, and suddenly you've given someone an entire evening.

We get a lot of corporate orders for these, because they work for almost anyone on a client list. One account manager ordered 40 of them last December for their top-tier clients. The wine can be upgraded to a higher-end bottle by paying the price difference, which is exactly what that client did for their VIP list.

Chocolate Baskets for the Sweet Tooth in the Family

Know someone who would genuinely rather skip the cheese and just have chocolate? Our chocolate gift baskets are built for that person. Belgian chocolate truffles, premium cocoa truffles, chocolate macaroons, chocolate waffles. It's a lot of chocolate, intentionally.

These tend to be the fastest to sell out in December, fair warning.

Corporate Christmas Gifting: The Practical Guide

Corporate gifting in December is a logistics problem as much as it's a gifting problem. You've got a list of 30, 50, maybe 150 recipients, different addresses, different preferences, and a budget that needs to stretch across all of them.

Here's how we handle it.

For bulk orders, we have a dedicated order form available. You download it, fill in your recipient list and basket preferences, and email it back to the address on the form. Our corporate team takes it from there. Custom packaging and corporate branding are available for business clients, so your company name and logo can be part of the presentation.

Budget-wise, most corporate clients land between $99 and $199 per basket for employee recognition, and $150 to $300+ for client appreciation. The corporate gift basket collection is a good starting point to see what's available at each price point.

One thing worth knowing: December is our busiest month by a significant margin. If you're ordering for 50+ recipients, reach out early. Mid-November is not too early. We've had companies contact us December 20th for 80 baskets and we've made it work, but nobody's comfortable at that point.

The Platinum Feast: Includes milk chocolate truffles, cocoa truffles, chocolate pralines, and toffees.

Customizing Your Christmas Basket

Every basket can be upgraded. If a basket includes a standard wine and you want to move to a higher-end bottle, you pay the price difference and we make the switch. You can also add extras, a box of chocolates, a second bottle, a tin of Hardbite chips, whatever makes sense for the recipient.

If you'd rather build something from scratch, our custom basket option lets you handpick every single item. Start at the custom gift basket page and go from there.

What you can't do is remove items from an existing basket or swap items for something of equal or lower value. The baskets are priced as assembled. Upgrades and additions, yes. Removals, no.

Delivery Across Canada for Christmas 2026

In Toronto and the GTA, we deliver seven days a week with same-day delivery on orders placed before 4 PM. Our own local delivery van handles these runs, so you get real-time delivery notifications from our team, not a courier tracking number.

Everywhere else in Ontario and Quebec, next-business-day delivery is the standard. No special selection needed at checkout, that's just how it works.

For the rest of Canada, BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Maritimes, next-business-day delivery via UPS is available at checkout. Select it and you're covered.

One practical note for Christmas: December shipping volumes across Canada spike hard in the third week of December. Order by December 18th to be safe for Christmas delivery. If you're in the GTA, we have a bit more flexibility, but don't push it past the 22nd.

Season’s Savoury Basket: Includes potato chips, brie cheese, basil pesto, sesame breadsticks, biscotti, and truffles.

What Makes a Canadian Christmas Basket Different

It's the sourcing. Mass-market gift baskets pull from the same wholesale distributors. You've seen the same shortbread tin, the same foil-wrapped chocolate, the same crackers in a hundred different baskets.

Ours don't look like that because they aren't built like that. Hardbite chips are made in BC and genuinely good. Great Canadian Meat Company jerky is a product we added because we ate it and thought, yes, this belongs in a basket. Icewine waffles, maple waffles, handcrafted caramel popcorn. These are things people actually get excited about opening.

And every basket is hand-assembled the day it ships. Not pre-packed, not warehoused. Built fresh, shipped same day.
