FIFA World Cup 2026 Toronto: What to Know About Gift Basket Deliveries This Summer

Toronto is buzzing. From June 11 to July 19, 2026, the city is hosting FIFA World Cup 2026 matches and the FIFA Fan Festival at BMO Field, welcoming fans from across the globe for one of the biggest sporting events in the world. Alongside the excitement comes a significant increase in foot traffic, temporary road closures, and city-wide mobility adjustments that will affect how deliveries move through certain parts of Toronto and the GTA.

If you have a gift basket order coming up, here is what you need to know to make sure it arrives on time.

Which areas in Toronto will be affected?

The City of Toronto's FIFA World Cup Mobility Plan introduces temporary traffic and transportation changes throughout the tournament period. The neighbourhoods expected to see the highest levels of road restrictions, pedestrian activity, and access adjustments include Exhibition Place, BMO Field, Liberty Village, Fort York, The Waterfront, and Downtown Toronto.

Deliveries to the following postal code areas may be impacted during this period:

M5T, M6K, M6J, M5K, M5L, M5V, and M7A

If your recipient's address falls within any of these postal codes, we recommend planning your order earlier than usual.

Will my delivery still arrive on time?

For most orders across Toronto and the GTA, delivery timelines will remain unaffected. For addresses within the impacted postal codes listed above, our team will schedule deliveries during off-peak hours and aim to complete them before 11:00 a.m. on your chosen delivery date wherever possible. Routes will be adjusted based on daily road access as city conditions change throughout the tournament.

Is same-day delivery still available?

Same-day delivery of gift baskets Canada to addresses within the affected postal code areas may not always be possible during the FIFA World Cup period. For these areas, orders placed for same-day delivery may be moved to the next available delivery window. To avoid any uncertainty, placing your order at least one to two days in advance is the simplest way to secure your preferred delivery date.

Same-day delivery across the rest of Toronto and the GTA continues as normal.

Should I order early for a birthday or special occasion?

Yes, and the earlier the better if your recipient lives or works in one of the affected neighbourhoods. A day or two of lead time is all it takes to remove any guesswork, especially during busy match days when road conditions can shift quickly.

What about corporate orders or large gift deliveries?

For businesses sending multiple gift hampers to clients or teams in downtown Toronto or the waterfront area, advance scheduling is strongly encouraged. Our team is happy to coordinate delivery timing across larger orders to work around the tournament schedule. Reach out directly and we will plan it with you.
